Over the past year, Divergent Network has been hard at work to provide the best experience for its players. The team took the last few months to re-evaluate what Divergent Network provides to its community and what we could do to improve the user experience.
We, unfortunately, hit roadblocks along the way due to scheduling, education, other work obligations, and family time. These are essential details in one’s life, and that is what we aim to prioritize. However, as our staff and team members enter the holiday season, we have more time to dedicate to the server, and these are only the first of the many exciting changes we hope to bring!
The first thing we have set into motion is a brand new revamp to the website. We have integrated portions of Hamz’s Community Site into our own. New members who want to join Divergent Network will first visit the website and tour around. There is an applications tab where players can apply for any role-play department, and if accepted, they will get an invite into the role-play discord. We feel that this is a much easier and cleaner way for players to get a sense of what Divergent Network is and what we have to offer and can easily navigate to apply.
Thanks to Hamz’s Community Site, our application process will go a lot faster as Hamz offers a much easier way for applicants to create applications and for the staff to view and process without the unnecessary paperwork. The only drawback is that players will not be notified by email when their application is accepted. Though the website is integrated with discord, as long as players continuously check up on their application dashboard, they can see if their application was viewed, processed, approved, or denied. Each application would have comments regardless if they were accepted or denied. Approved applications will have a link to the discord server to conduct their interview and later training, and denied ones will have key denial notes so they may attempt a better application. Most applications should be processed within 3-5 days, maybe sooner. Suppose players have any questions about their application. In that case, we encourage them to visit the Frequently Asked Questions page of the website or join our Community Discord and contact a staff member.
To follow the Community Discord mention, we have reorganized all of our Discord servers. This is how the original structure of our Discord Servers looked:
We had six discord servers. The Recruitment Center was the initial server, and members had the option to join the Media server for cinematics, screenshot-making, networking, and skill-learning. After a player applied and interviewed, they joined the Training Discord server where they trained in their department. Thereafter, they joined the Main FiveM discord and either the Civilian Operations discord or the Government Discord. With the inclusion of the new website, this renders half of the features of the Recruitment Center useless. Thus, we have decided to turn the Recruitment Center into Divergent Network Community Hub, where we have fully integrated the Media Server into and allowed a public chatting space for all to come. The Community Hub's purpose and hope is to enable new incoming players to speak with current Divergent Network members about their experience, allow content creators to share their own videos and live-streams with the public, and network with people of common interests or new up-and-coming content creators. Applicants through the website can join the server and ask any questions about Divergent Network or about the status of their application. We also will have different forums so players can speak about various topics. We hope this drives home Divergent Network’s mission of being a Community-focused server and gear many of the features we offer to our community.
This is all that we have to announce today; we will post blog updates regularly so players can see what Divergent Network is working on and what we hope to change and add in the future! Another blog update is scheduled to post at the end of this month. We hope to showcase everything that’s being tested and worked for our role-play server!
